the first.

I'm attempting to memorize one Bible verse a month, and this month's verse is: "You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ." -Galatians 3:26-27

My prayer is that I'll continue to yearn to memorize scripture. It's hard because in this world, it's a go-go-go society and I don't make the time to sit down and focus on the Word of God. All the while, Satan attacks me from every angle and I don't have anything to fight with.

I use to do this a lot in high school...and now I'm going to do it again! I need that scripture to fall back on. It will give me peace in times of fear, comfort and courage. Scripture is an amazing thing and I don't know why I've been neglecting it!

The Lord is good and He is faithful, and for that I'm grateful. I'm so glad that He doesn't neglect my words when I pray, even though I do that to Him.

"I have hidden your word in my heart, so that I might not sin against you." -Psalm 119:11
I want to be able to say that I have hidden the Lord's word in my heart. Because that's where it truly needs to be.

  1. i absolutely agree with what you said about memorizing Scripture being a challenge because of our schedules! since i am in italy right now traveling i have had alot more "transit" time (on trains and such) and am trying to take advantage of that time by memorizing romans. it seems like such a huge undertaking to memorize a whole book, but i know that it will be a great lesson in diligence and perserverance. i am encouraged by you wanting to grow in this and bringing back and old, but good practice! :) (p.s. i'm super excited about the wedding and i'm not sure that i have told you that yet!)

    peace like a river..
